President and Chief Executive Officer
M. Evan Price, who was chairman of CO2 Solutions since October 2008, was appointed president and Chief Executive Officer in May 2013. Mr. Price is an experienced international business executive who has held leadership positions in a broad variety of industries, including advanced technologies, hospitality and forestry. In addition, he is chairman of IOU Financial (CNSX: IOU), an online provider of business loans in the United States, and a board member of Solifor, one of the province of Québec's largest private owners of timberlands.
Mr. Price is an active philanthropist and serves on the board of the Rideau Hall Foundation. He is a member of the civilian advisory council to the Royal 22nd Regiment of Canada.
He holds an MBA (Honours) from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, a B.Sc. in Forestry Engineering from Laval University and a Certificate of Corporate Governance from Laval University.
Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Skinner, Chartered Accountant, joined CO2 Solutions in March 2011 as senior vice president, Finance & CFO. His professional experience spans more than 30 years and includes senior financial executive roles in the financial services, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences and biotech sectors, including large-scale mergers and acquisitions and capital-raising work. Mr. Skinner has held a number of senior financial management positions in Canada and Europe, including companies such as DiagnoCure, Sanofi/Aventis, Mckesson Canada Corp. and the Business Development Bank of Canada. Mr. Skinner holds a graduate diploma in public accounting from McGill University.
Senior Vice President, Process Engineering and Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Richard Surprenant joined CO2 Solutions’ management team as Senior Vice-President, Process Engineering and Chief Technology Officer in January 2017. Mr. Surprenant spent 18 years working for a major oil company where his functions evolved from refinery technical services and operations to senior executive engineering and commercial roles at national and international levels. His experience covers many upstream and downstream operations and businesses, including oil sands mining and upgrading, oil refining, chemical manufacturing, pipeline operations, power production, renewable energy, sulphur and road paving products, supply chain management and technical and business consultancy.
Mr. Surprenant served as Board Director, Chairman and President for Alberta Sulphur Research Limited between 2008 and 2014 and as Board Director of Sultran Ltd. from 2010 to 2013.
Mr. Surprenant holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from McGill University.
Director, Valorisation Carbone Québec
Before joining CO2 Solutions’ team, Dr. Louis Fradette spent ten years of his career in the industrial sector, initially as a junior process engineer in the oil refining business and, after completing a PhD in Chemical Engineering, in the R&D and operations management of high-technology companies. He is a Professor of chemical engineering at École Polytechnique de Montréal since 2007. He has broad industrial experience ranging from oil refining and bitumen sands treatment, to ore processing, and polymer composites preparation and extrusion. He also works as a consultant for many North American, European and Asian companies.
Vice President, Research and Development
Dr. Fradette was appointed to lead the research and development activities of the Company in 2007, having previously been involved as a researcher and an architect of the Company's technology platform since 1998. Prior to this, Dr. Fradette was involved in postgraduate studies at Laval University where she received a Ph.D. in chemical engineering in the application of biocatalysts as tools for new processes. Dr. Fradette is also a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
Vice President, Biocatalysis
Dr. Voyer joined CO2 Solutions in 2006 as vice president, Technology Applications, and acted as interim president & CEO from January 2008 to August 2008. Dr. Voyer is a member of CO2 Solutions' Scientific Advisory Committee. Dr. Voyer is recognized for his research in bioorganic chemistry, and is the founder of the Quebec Research Centre on Protein Structure, Function, and Engineering (CREFSIP). Dr. Voyer also served as director of Chemistry at Biopharmacopae Design International Inc., and was a visiting scientist for E. I. DuPont de Nemours & Co., in Wilmington, DE. Dr. Voyer holds a doctorate in organic chemistry from Laval University and a postdoctoral degree in bioorganic chemistry from UCLA.
